While it can certainly be enjoyed year-round, BBQ typically reminds me of summertime and I think we could all use a little glimpse of the warmer temperatures that are sure to come. This recipe was shared with me by a friend who was serving up a BBQ sampler platter last week. While they were planning to use the sauce on spare ribs and pork shoulder, I think it would also be tasty on grilled chicken or even baked on top of meatloaf. Ingredients (
will yield enough to be used with ~5 lbs spare ribs)
- 1 1/2 c ketchup
- 1 1/2 c water
- 1/4 c brown sugar
- 1 TBSP soy sauce
- 1 TBSP lemon juice
- 3/4 c pineapple juice
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a medium-sized saucepan; bring to a boil and then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
