At both of our events this week, we served a brownie and ice cream bar (among other refreshments) which included this super-easy, super-delicious hot fudge sauce. Like last week's recipe (peach cobbler), it does not contain any ingredients from our farm, but would be a perfect ending to your dinner. Thanks to Trista for introducing me to this recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 c butter
- 3/4 c semi-sweet chocolate
- 2/3 c sugar
- 2/3 c evaporated milk
Directions:
Melt the butter and chocolate chips over medium-heat, stirring frequently. Stir in the sugar and then gradually add the evaporated milk. Stir frequently until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a gentle boil over medium-heat, then reduce heat to low and continue to boil gently for 8 minutes, stirring often. Cool completely and store in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Yield: around 1 pint
