Natural-Cure Smoked Ham How-To

The good news about our natural-cure smoked hams, is that they are so easy to prepare--simply heat and eat.  While they can be enjoyed as-is, I have been known to add extra sweetness when preparing ham.  I have used a variety of sweeteners over time, including: honey, brown sugar, real maple syrup, Coke, pineapple rings, and maraschino cherries.  I think my favorite combination is lightly packing brown sugar on the outside of a thawed ham and then drizzling it with real maple syrup; I then heat the ham (with the roasting pan covered in foil) in the oven at 325F for about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the size.  YUM!
